I hope you are all enjoying thee first few days of the fall, or the spring if you live in the southern hemisphere. The NYSORA team is decmpressing after their hard work on the amazing 12th NYSORA annual symposium that took place this past weekend. As expected, this year's symposium set an even higher standard, and raised the bar to another level. Therefore, we have decided to dedicate this entire newsletter to a photo reportage depicting the 2012 symposium made by the Ceho brothers.

The symposium was attended by over 400 delegates and 21 exibitions from around the world. Our organizational strategy for the didactic sessions, to form them into think tank and anesthesiology review series with talks limited to 20 minutes followed by rapid fire questions by the delegates, proved to be a huge success. The delegates especially appreciated the fact that the talks were given by varied opinion leaders, who shared their original data in a clinician-friendly manner.

Following the symposium on Saturday night, the delegates greatly enjoyed the Hudson River cruise and the networking opportunities presented. Following the cruise the night ended with a performance by the Big Apple Blues Band at a local club, which lasted late into the night.

We are happy to announce that the 2014 NYSORA symposium is already in preparation for next year, we have invited the best ranked instructors (as voted on by delegates), and have put together an amazing didactic workshop program. We are also instituting an innovative abstract competition and have secured a peerreviewed journal publication of the best scoring abstracts for 2014.

Please do check the NYSORA Latin America website and consider joining us at the 1st NYSORA Latin America Symposium: "Bridging North And South Americas". This first symposium is planned as "who is who" in regional anesthesia and will feature expanded didactic program, several levels of regional anesthesia workshops, as well as a dedicated workshop for NYSORA instructors and NYSORA ESOP Scholars (NYSORA Educational Scholar Outreach Program). The registration is now opened and we already have received a number of registrants unusually early!
